Dr. Andrea King

Dr. Andrea King is Assistant Professor of French in the Department of French and Asian Studies at Huron.  Dr. King has published several articles on gendered haunting in the Québec and Canadian novel in journals such as Cahiers Anne Hébertand Canadian Literature. She aims to provide students with opportunities for enriched learning, including collaborating with them on original research. Recent collaborations have focused on French women’s science fiction and Canadian and Québec graphic novels. Along with her student research assistant, she is currently building online language learning modules for her first-year French course.

 
Dr. King is particularly interested in stretching the boundaries of literary scholarship and finding links between disciplines. Her students have authored their own comics and published them in digital anthologies, and have attended and analyzed live performances of comedies by Shakespeare and Molière.  Dr. King believes that creative endeavours are the foundation of critical practice.
