Huron’s Fall 2020 term will be held entirely online… but we’re still here to support you (from a distance)!
We’ve adapted our programming to ensure minimal disruption to the support Huron students have come to expect from us. We’ll go over the details in future posts, but here are the basics:
- Our $1500 Research Fellowships are still running! Winners are expected to carry out their research online; this online methodology must be reflected in your application. Applications open in August and close October 1.
- We’ve developed a NEW award: Research Skill Bursaries! Designed to replace Travel Bursaries, which we’ve closed this year, these $150 awards support students in presenting at or participating in online conferences and skill-building workshops. Applications open July 1 and close March 30.
- The Fall Exhibition will be hosted entirely online! Rather than a live event, we will be displaying student work in the form of digital posters, videos, images, tweets, and memes (yup) on the CURL website. We may offer certain events live on Zoom. We’re stoked to see the innovative ways you’ll share your learning!
- We’re launching the Undergraduate Research Excellence award! Each program at Huron will be invited to select a single student recipient of $100 in recognition of their excellent course-based research.
As usual, we can’t wait to see your work… and we’d love to hear your thoughts! See you (virtually) in September!
