Undergraduate Research Conferences

Below is a list of some of the many undergraduate research conferences in North America. If you are applying to present at one of these conferences, consider applying for a CURL travel bursary! Applications for the conferences closed already? Keep them in mind for next year!

Most conferences’ applications close a few months before the actual conference. Always be ready to send abstracts in early.

Western University, Student Research Conference
London, Ontario 

The Western Student Research Conference (WSRC) is Western University’s annual multidisciplinary undergraduate research conference. We welcome oral and poster presenters from students from all academic backgrounds, from universities across Ontario. WSRC 2021 will be our sixth annual conference, and our first virtual conference.

University of Toronto, National Undergraduate Research Conference
Toronto, Ontario

At this annual conference, undergraduate students have the opportunity to present literature reviews, critiques, term papers and findings from research projects. This is a multidisciplinary conference that includes topics from exercise physiology, biomechanics, sports medicine, coach education, motor learning and control, exercise and sport psychology, philosophy, history and sociology of sport.

Queen’s University, Undergraduate Research Conference

The 15th annual I@Q conference will take place online to promote and showcase undergraduate research and creative work. Please consider sharing your ideas! We welcome work in progress and individual or group projects! Consider putting together a student panel related to an inquiry project or projects in a single course to describe what you learned about the inquiry process, its challenges and rewards.

URS is an opportunity for undergraduate students from all faculties to showcase their exceptional research alongside their peers to the broader campus community. This year’s event will take place online, with participants submitting video presentations of their work.

Nipissing University’s Undergraduate Research Conference
Nipissing University, North Bay, Ontario

The Undergraduate Research Conference celebrates the contributions of undergraduate research at Nipissing University and across Ontario. It provides an opportunity for students to present a research project they are working on while engaging in scholarly debate amongst each other.

A student from any undergraduate discipline, who has worked on a scholarly project in which s/he has taken a leadership role in its development and execution, are eligible to participate in the conference. Proposals can be disciplinary specific or multi/interdisciplinary.

Council on Undergraduate Research’s National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)
Washington, DC, the United States of America

NCUR is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. Unlike meetings of academic professional organizations, this gathering of student scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning across all disciplines.
