Community-based Research

As active historians, Huron History faculty and students work to bridge in-class learning with hands-on experiences, engaging with local and international archives, historic sites, museums, and other community partners. Recent projects include the Phantoms of the Past research site, Antislavery Connections, and our new Huron Community History Centre Collaborative Mapping site.  Projects from 2016-17 are profiled here. Read more about a selection of past student CBL projects here.

Our Huron Community History Centre, launched in 2018, offers competitive paid research internship opportunities to Huron History students during the summer months. Read more about the projects and community partners we support through the HCHC!
