Summary:

MWM Consulting (MWM) was a branding and communications firm that empowered professionals and businesses to tell their stories and drive revenue through coaching, ghostwriting and organizational training. Founder and CEO of MWM, Matt Parkin, was a Western University graduate and entrepreneur with expertise in personal branding, sales and LinkedIn. After a successful quarter with a new marketing intern hire, Jeremy Huang, Parkin asked Huang to lead a team of incoming interns. MWM faced challenges with this internship program led by Huang, including incomplete work, communication gaps and lack of skills needed for assigned tasks. Students are asked to address the root causes of these issues and how both the interns and management have contributed to them. Students will use organizational behaviour theories and case information to develop alternatives and establish decision criteria to allow Parkin to evaluate the success of the internship program. This organizational behaviour case is designed for an introductory undergraduate business course.
