Scholarships, Awards and Opportunities in Psychology

Hamish Macdonald Prize for First Year, awarded annually to the student with the highest grade in Psychology 1100E 

The Sabina Cole Memorial Prize in Biopsychology, awarded annually for the highest grade in Psychology 2221A/B 

Professor Frederick Walter Burd Prize in Psychology, awarded annually to the student with the highest standing entering the Honours Specialization program in Psychology 

Dr. Joanne and Peter MacPherson Psychology Scholarship, awarded to an upper-year psychology student in good standing on a need basis 

Professor Mark R. Cole Award in Experimental Psychology, awarded annually for the highest grade in upper-year mandatory psychology courses 

Dr. Nelson Heapy Award in Social Psychology, awarded annually for the highest grade in Psychology 2780E 

Dr. Stephen Erdle Award in Quantitative Psychology, awarded annually for the highest grade in Psychology 3830A/B 

Dr. Moira Sansom Award for Excellence in Psychological Research awarded annually to the student with the best Honours B.A. thesis 

Fourth-year Honours Bursary, awarded to students to support completion of their B.A thesis 

CURL Student Research Bursary provides financial support to Huron students who wish to develop their research and career skills by participating in conferences, courses, workshops, and other events. Both in-person and online events are eligible for the bursary. 

CURL Research Fellowships support students’ research learning endeavours by providing $1500 and 1-on-1 mentorship with a faculty member at Huron. The funding may be used for project resources or to reduce the need for a part-time job while students complete this important work.
