Provenance A: Binding  Bound in a mix of light and dark brown blind-tooled speckled panelled calf with ornamented rolls and cornerpieces. Fore-edges speckled red. Spine contains six compartments with title “Brooke Catalogue” in gilt on red leather label in compartment two. Copy contains later watermarked endpapers at front and back.
Provenance B: Ownership Marks Copy contains inscription of “George Leycester” at top of title page and repeated inscription “Ralph” at centre. Early unidentified inscription with date of 1581 found on recto of dedication page. Verso of Errata contains inscription reading “Richard Leycester his booke” and repeated inscription of “George Leycester”. Copy purchased at Bonhams’ sale 11-21 March 2024. See auction record here.
Provenance C: Annotation Copy contains MS. numbered grid in pencil atop of royal arms on sigs. 2¶6v and 4¶2v. MS. corrections on 2¶2r and G3v in an early hand. Addition of “Clare 52” in MS. on final printed table.
