Provenance A: Binding  Bound in blind-tooled calf with the gilt arms of Francis Holles (1627-1690) on front and back boards. Spine has five compartments.
Provenance B: Ownership Marks Copy contains University of Virginia bookplate with typed name of “John Cook Wyllie” on inner front pastedown. Inscription of “Jo: Ayton” in an early hand on title page. “Tho[ma]s Heywood 1819” also inscribed on title page.
Provenance C: Annotations Copy contains a number of supplementary annotations in multiple early and later hands. Longer genealogical note detailing the births, deaths, and marriages of the Holles family from 1616-1637 found on sig. L6r. Select engravings of arms, regalia, etc. from a later imprint have been cut and pasted throughout. Longer annotations found on sigs. Q2r, S3r, 2B6r, 2E3v, 2L2r, 2L5r-v.
