Spine contains six compartments. Compartment two has title “Brooke’s Succession” in gilt on brown leather label. Compartments one and three to six have gilt floral ornaments. “1622” tooled in gilt at foot. |

Title page contains the early inscription of “Robert Cary 1631,” likely a reference to Robert Carey, First Earl of Monmouth (1560-1639), son of Henry Carey, First Baron Hunsdon (1526-1596). |
