| Provenance A: Binding | Bound in later light brown half calf? over marbled boards. Spine contains six compartments with gilt title “Brooke’s Catalogue of Kings” on brown leather label in compartment two. Additional compartments contain blind ornaments with gilt rulings on bands. |
| Provenance B: Ownership Marks | Copy contains bookplate of Jaggard Collection (number 6) on inner front pastedown. Copy was presented to the Shakespeare Memorial Library, Stratford-upon-Avon, in April 1909 by Captain William Jaggard (accession number 3415), and then transferred to the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust on 16th February 1948 (accession number 4313). Additional ink inscription on inner front pastedown reads “Henry Shirley, The Grove, Brishington, 1813”. |
