Provenance A: Binding  Bound in brown polished calf with blind-tooled ornamented frame. Spine contains seven compartments with title “Brooke Catalogue of Nobility 1622” on black label in compartment two and call number in compartment five, both in gilt. Remaining compartments contain ornaments and date at foot, all in blind. Speckled edges.
Provenance B: Ownership Marks Copy contains small stamp in gilt of “The Newberry Library” at bottom left of front board and oval Newberry Library bookplate on inner front pastedown. Pencilled inscription of Tho[mas] C. Hutchins? on front endpaper. Additional note, in pencil, on endpaper before title page discusses Brooke and Shakespeare with a citation dated 1899.
Provenance C: Annotations Copy contains occasional MS. pencil and ink supplements and corrections in a later hand. See sigs. B4v and C4v. Some sections underlined or marked (e.g. sig. E1r). Back endpaper has “Coll[ated] perfect. N.L.” in pencil. Additional ink code at top of final Table
