Provenance A: Binding  Bound in plain brown blind-tooled calf. Spine contains five compartments and no title. Both boards are loose and copy is tied.
Provenance B: Ownership Marks Copy contains ink inscription reading “James Lumley His Book 1709” on front endpaper with longer inscription from “Sam Harrison 1772” following. Dedication page contains the early inscription of “William Radclyff[?]”. Brotherton bookstamp on verso of title page. Bookplate of “W.T. Freemantle, Esq., Barrott Hall, Greasbrough, Rotherham” on inner front pastedown with larger coloured armorial bookplate of “Edward Allen, Baron Brotherton of Wakefield” on same pastedown.
Provenance C: Annotations Copy contains extensive genealogical tree of “Thomas Percie” added to the margin in red and black ink with manicule on p. 234. Various strikethroughs on pp. 23, 63, 117, 118 and numerous annotations on inner back pastedown. Evidence of stub from cancel between pp. 385-386.
