Provenance A: Binding  Bound in early blind-tooled brown calf with gilt centrepiece and blind-tooled fleurons. Copy contains marbled pastedowns and endpapers with reddened foredges. Rebacked spine contains six compartments with red leather label in compartments two and four, containing gilt lettering “Brook’s Catalogue of Nobility” and “2nd. Edition” respectively. Compartments one and three contain blind-stamped floral ornaments. Round label in compartment five contains “E. Lib. Coke”. Compartment six contains Inner Temple gilt stamp with gilt date error “1623” at foot of spine.
Provenance B: Ownership Marks Copy contains Inner Temple armorial bookplate on inner front pastedown. Additional ownership information provided by the Inner Temple Library census: “Stamp (in form of shield, blue ink): “Bib. Int. Templi” with emblem, on flyleaf. Stamp (circular, red ink): “Inner Temple” with emblem, on title-page and on several other leaves. Date stamp (rectangular, blue ink) on rear endpaper: “Inner Temple Library 27 Nov 1961”.
