Provenance A: Binding  Bound in early blind-tooled tanned calf with corner ornaments on inner frame.
Provenance B: Ownership Marks Copy contains ink inscription reading “The Authors gifte”. This is one of several surviving gift copies. Contains the St. John’s College Armorial bookplate. Autograph inscription of the English antiquarian Thomas Baker (1656-1740) at bottom of title page reading “Tho: Baker Coll. Jo. Socius Ejectus”. For more, see St. John’s College.
Provenance C: Annotations Copy contains supplementary annotations throughout, including one cross-reference to “Strype’s Life of Stow”. Baker, one of the copy’s early owner’s, notes that the copy was purchased for 6s “at an auction of Mr. Brydges books.” Additional annotations in different hands found throughout. Most annotations in English, some in Latin.
