Provenance A: Binding  Bound in gold-tooled mottled calf with marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Spine contains six compartments with title “Catalogue of Nobility Brooke” on red leather label in compartment two and “1622” at foot in gilt.
Provenance B: Ownership Marks Copy contains two early cropped signatures at head of title page. Bookplate of Joseph Foster on inner front pastedown. Final leaf before table has inscription of “Du Cresne 18 Feb. 1635” with greek motto. For additional notes, see the Folger Shakespeare Library Catalogue.
Provenance C: Annotations Copy contains heavy annotations with numerous supplements, cross-references, genealogies and blazons in French throughout. Some notes seem to extend the family lines into the 1630s and 40s. Many of the marginal notes have been cropped. French index of arms on front endpaper. Additional notes on final endpapers in same hand records notes relating to King Charles and other nobles with a date of 1634.
