Translation reads: The book of Edward Trotman, also tutor of the Temple of [?], pretium 11d [?], 9 Feb. 1620. Possibly Edward Trotman (1580-1643) admitted to the Inner Temple in 1598. Additional inscription reads “H. Clerici Londini 1691.” Manchester Library armorial bookplate on inner front pastedown, penciled call number and note reading “unlisted” at bottom of bookplate. |
