2018-19 classes have taken Huron History students on the road for funded community-based archival research.\u00a0 In HIST 3201E First Peoples and Colonialism in Canada,\u00a0<\/em>work continues on Dr. Peace’s SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant titled “Documenting Early Residential Schools”–read more about this innovative project here<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Historian’s Craft students joined Dr. Bell in Chatham at the Chatham Kent Black Historical Society for work on HIST 3801E’s “Antislavery in Small Things” project, and Dr. Bell and Dr. Reid-Maroney’s SSHRC\u00a0 project,\u00a0Finding Christ Church: Social Justice in History, Memory, and Contemporary Practice<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

And in October, History students participated in the two-day Lake Erie Borderlands Field School, stopping in Gibraltar, Michigan, en route to Oberlin, Ohio.\u00a0 Read about class research documenting antislavery links between 19th-century Oberlin and Canada West here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
