45 secondary school students from the TVDSB and LKDSB joined Huron History students on September 30th for History Day, where they attended Dr. Amy Bell’s HIST 1815F \u201cHistories of Love\u201d, participated in workshops led by Devon Elliott<\/a> (History, UWO) and Amber Lloydlangston (Museum London<\/a>), enjoyed lunch with the Huron History Society, and a public lecture by \u00a0Dr. Stephen Brooke, York University. The event was supported by the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, and by<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Students will be introduced to the field of digital history, and will work with a sampling of digital history applications, with an eye to building skills to use in future projects. (HUC Computer Lab)<\/p>\n

Picturing the Past<\/strong> (Amber Lloydlangston, Curator of Regional History, Museum London)<\/p>\n

Students will explore the impact that photography has had on popular culture \u2013gender roles, family relations, and the media \u2013 by looking at the development of technology from the Brownie box camera through to the digital camera today. \u00a0(Library Mezzanine)<\/p>\n
