Singapore 2020 History Study Trip

Students in History 4605E “War and Memory in Modern East Asia”  will take part in a study trip to Singapore during the February reading week. The trip is focused on the Battle of Singapore and how the battle has been remembered by the Singaporeans. Research activities in Singapore will include (1) an exchange with a well-published military historian of the British Empire at the National University of Singapore, a visit to National Museum of Singapore, research in the National Archives of Singapore, and a field trip to the battle fields.  Student travel for the trip is supported by the W. Galen Weston Fund for British History at Huron.
