Finding Christ Church <\/em>brings together the scattered print records of the Colonial\u00a0 Church and School Society (CCSS), the evangelical arm of the Church of England and an important antislavery organizations in Canada West between 1855 and 1865. The records include excerpts from letters written by priests and teachers who worked for the Society in Black communities across the region.\u00a0 Because the original correspondence was destroyed during the bombing of London in WWII, the printed reports constitute the only trace of CCSS letters received from Chatham in the 1850s and 1860s. By making the reports available on the Finding Christ Church <\/em>website, our project contributes to new antislavery scholarship while reuniting the Christ Church community with the materials of its past.<\/p>\n
