This guide is an attempt to address questions of the expectations of Northern researchers to ensure that Northern communities are involved in, and benefit from, research, as well as provide practical advice to assist researchers who plan to work with, or in the vicinity of, Canadian Inuit communities in the regions of Nunatsiavut (Labrador), Nunavik (northern Qu\u00e9bec), Nunavut, and the Inuvialuit Settlement Region of the Northwest Territories (NWT).<\/p>\n

Principles of Ethical M\u00e9tis Research<\/a>
These principles are intended to reflect the considerable experience of the participants involved. Outside groups may choose to use these principles in whole or adapt them to their needs as they see fit. The principles are not intended to be enforceable rules that must be followed but rather are a well thought out starting point to engage M\u00e9tis communities in ethical research.<\/p>\n
