If you don&#8217;t feel like reading the full document, check out this YouTube video that walks you through each section!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>New human research ethics guidance documents from Western<\/h2>\n<p>The Office of Human Research Ethics has developed two new guidance documents for remote methods of data collection for researchers:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.huronresearch.ca\/curl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/53\/2024\/08\/ORM-1A-Ethical-Considerations-for-Remote-Consent-and-Assent.pdf\">Ethical Considerations for Remote Consent and Assent<\/a><br \/>\n&#8220;This guidance document was developed by the OHRE in collaboration with six other institutions, including local hospitals, Western\u2019s privacy office and the Lawson Health Research Institute. It provides guidelines for our research community for alternative consent processes, as opposed to the traditional in person consent process.
